AMHERST COLLEGE – AMHERST, MA

Amherst College invites applications for a one-year visiting position, beginning July 1, 2013, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The successful candidate must have completed all requirements for the doctorate before commencement of teaching in September, 2013, and must be able to teach with distinction both Latin and Greek at all levels, with particular emphasis on Greek language and literature. The ability to teach survey courses on Greek literature and the classical tradition and to direct writing and research at all undergraduate levels will be a distinct advantage. The teaching load is two courses per semester.

Amherst College, a private coeducational liberal arts college of some 1,800 students and 200 faculty located in the Connecticut Valley of Western Massachusetts, participates with Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts in the Five-College Consortium.
