Both the SCS and the Women’s Classical Caucus provide subsidies for registrants who make arrangements for child care with local providers in Chicago so that they can attend annual meeting sessions or placement interviews. Information on obtaining support from the SCS is available from Heather Gasda in the SCS Office (heatherh@sas.upenn.edu).

The WCC Steering Committee is now accepting applications to its Child Care Fund for the upcoming SCS/AIA annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois (Jan. 2-5, 2014). To be eligible, applicants must be WCC members in good standing with dues paid by January 15, 2013. The deadline to apply for these grants for the conference is December 5, 2013. Applicants should e-mail Professors Amy R. Cohen and Tara Welch with a brief statement explaining their purpose in attending the annual meetings. Please include the following information in the e-mail:

  1. rank in field (graduate/undergraduate/post-doctoral);
  2. employment status (graduate student/temporary position/tenure-track or tenured);
  3. any financial support offered by home institution; and
  4. a rough estimate of the total expense requested.
