The call for applications for annual meeting travel stipends is now open. Applications are due by September 14, 2018.

You are eligible to apply for a travel stipend if you are a student, contingent faculty member, or unemployed, and are: (a) presenting on the SCS program / organizing a session; or (b) serving on a SCS committee that will meet in San Diego. For the purposes of the travel stipends, we define "contingent faculty" as anyone holding a non-tenure track position. Preference will be given to those who are not receiving financial support from their academic institution or another organization.

If you received a travel stipend for the 2018 meeting in Boston, but did not use the funds, owing to bad weather, to travel or attempt to travel to the meeting, you should use your stipend for the 2019 meeting rather than applying for a new one.

The value of graduate student stipends will be at least $250 and the value of stipends for contingent faculty and those who are unemployed will be at least $300. Depending on demand and subject to the approval of the SCS board of directors, stipend amounts may be increased. Applicants will be notified of stipends and stipend amounts by October 1 and SCS will make payments in early November.
