The School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Classics, beginning Fall semester, August 16, 2008.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in Classics or closely related field is required by 8-16-08.

We are seeking a Hellenist to instruct undergraduate language and literature courses, including our introductory sequence and upper-level reading courses in ancient Greek. Strong evidence of an active research agenda is required, as well as experience in teaching classics and proof of superior teaching. Other duties may include mentoring students and professional service. Salary is highly competitive.
