The School of International Letters and Cultures (SILC) at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, multi-year lecturer in Classics, beginning fall semester, August 16, 2010.

Required qualifications include: M.A. in Classics or a closely related field awarded by June 30, 2010; one year of experience teaching ancient Greek or Latin language; ability to teach courses in Classical Civilization. Desired qualifications include a Ph.D. in Classics or a closely related field. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, to include: language and literature courses in both ancient Greek and Latin; mythology, an on-line course in Greek and Latin roots of medical terms; and courses on topics in antiquity designed by the candidate. Other duties may include mentoring students and professional service. Anticipated teaching load is 4/4.
