Houston Baptist University seeks an assistant/associate professor (career-track renewable) for the Department of Classics and Biblical Languages. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Candidates should be available to begin work in August, 2019. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Classics (or related discipline) by the time of appointment. Teaching responsibilities include four sections per semester, including courses in classical Latin, classical mythology, and other courses in classics. Candidates should also be qualified and willing to teach courses in the M.A. in Classics and Early Christianity program (https://www.hbu.edu/school-of-christian-thought/department-of-classics-and-biblical-languages/graduate-program-campus-macec-master-of-arts-in-classics-and-early-christianity/).

The successful candidate will also be able to articulate a vision for the role of his or her discipline at HBU that is supportive of the Ten Pillars vision statement; the Ten Pillars vision statement may be found at www.hbu.edu/tenpillars.
