Augustana College
The Department of Classics and the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Welfare at Augustana College invite applications for a one-year position at the rank of either Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in Classics and Cultural Anthropology for the 2009-10 academic year (pending funding). The successful candidate will be expected to teach 8 courses on a 2-3-3 schedule, including four courses in Greek and/or Latin at the beginning and advanced levels, three sections of Introduction to Anthropology, and one section of Cultural Anthropology through Ethnography. Prospective candidate should hold a Ph.D. or have ABD status; we envision the most likely candidate to be a Classical Archaeologist with significant experience in four-fields Anthropology. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of 2,500 students, most of whom live in residence halls on a wooded 115-acre campus.
