Augustana College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Classics at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Religion, Philosophy, and Classics.

The successful applicant for this position should be prepared to teach Latin and Greek (Attic and Koine) at all levels, as well as ancient literature courses in the original languages and in translation. The ability to teach other courses that complement Religion or Philosophy departmental offerings is desirable. Teaching load is 3-1-3 with a one-course January term.
The successful candidate must have completed the requirements for the doctorate before classes begin in September, 2008. Advanced ABD welcome to apply, but preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D. in hand. Applicants should be able to show evidence of being excellent teachers and scholars. A commitment to continuing professional/scholarly growth and to the mission of a church-related liberal arts college is expected.
Salary is competitive; dependent upon qualifications. Excellent fringe benefits.
