Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics. The Department of Classical and Modern Languages at Austin College invites applications for a two year position in Classics, beginning Fall 2013. Ph.D. in Classics preferred. We seek a Hellenist/Generalist who is able to teach Greek and Latin at all levels, classical mythology, and courses in Greek history/culture. Field of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with a background in Greek & Roman material culture who can teach one or more courses in Mediterranean archaeology. We are especially interested in someone dedicated to continuing the program’s use of educational technology and to outreach with high schools and the general public. Commitment to and evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching are essential. Teaching load is three courses in each of two long semesters and one course in January Term every other year.
