The Department of Comparative World Literature and Classics at California State University, Long Beach, invites applications for an approved tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Classics with a specialization in Latin prose or poetry. Teaching experience and/or potential in Latin language courses at all undergraduate levels and in Classics courses in translation is required. Candidates must show promise as a scholar and provide evidence of success or potential as a teacher. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience in ancient Greek and ability to supervise student teaching in Latin. Ph.D. in Classics or related area required.
