Latin Literature/Roman Culture -- Senior or Junior Position. Latinists at all levels are invited to apply for a one- or two-year (with possibility of renewal) visiting full-time position at Bard College. We are looking for a dedicated teacher/scholar who is equally committed to teaching Latin and Greek at all levels, Roman literature and culture, and thematic courses which consider the classical world in a modern or cross-disciplinary context. One such course, Bard's First-year Seminar on the theme of "Enlightenment(s)," including both ancient and post-classical texts, will be a regular part of the teaching load. Ability to contribute to other programs through strength in any of the following fields will also be considered an asset: art history and material culture, linguistics (perhaps including Sanskrit), post-classical drama, political science.
