Baylor University: The Department of Classics (http://www3.baylor.edu/classics/) and the Great Texts Program invite applications for Assistant Professor (tenure track) beginning August 2004. The teaching assignment may include instruction in both Latin and Greek at the beginning through advanced levels, as well as energetic involvement in the academic communities of both departments. The Classics major at Baylor is philologically based, emphasizing a significant quantity of reading in the primary languages. Part of the teaching commitment is in the university's Great Texts Program. Applicants should have a demonstrable record of outstanding teaching, show strong scholarly potential, and be prepared to discuss how they could contribute to the university's mission (http://www.baylor.edu/vision/index.php?id=211).
