BELOIT COLLEGE – BELOIT, WI

The Department of Classics at Beloit College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (with Ph.D. completed by August 1, 2011). The ability to teach Latin at all undergraduate levels is required. The ability to teach Greek as well would be welcome, but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a teaching and research focus in history and/or women’s and gender studies. Of paramount importance is the ability to teach – imaginatively and engagingly – an innovative array of courses. The successful candidate will contribute to all-college programs (e.g., first-year seminars, interdisciplinary studies) and play an active role in strengthening the connections between Classics and other departments at Beloit.
