CFP: Symposium Cumanum 2020

Symposium Cumanum 2020 ~ Call for proposals from Directors for June 2020 (deadline Thursday January 31, 2019). The Vergilian Society is soliciting proposals for directors for the twenty-sixth annual Symposium Cumanum, to take place at the Harry Wilkes Study Center at the Villa Vergiliana in Cuma, Italy near the end of June, 2020. We will consider a proposal on any theme pertaining to Vergil and his times, although preference may be given to a subject that has not been treated recently.

Purpose: Northeast Catholic College is pleased to announce its Spring Conference with a theme of Classical Reception. This conference hopes to further the discussion of how Classical literature and civilization is received by later cultures.

CFP: 42nd Annual Ancient Philosophy Workshop

The Annual Ancient Philosophy Workshop (42nd in the series inaugurated and periodically sponsored by The University of Texas at Austin) will be held March 8-9, 2019, at Trinity University, San Antonio, TX. This workshop is sponsored by the Trinity Philosophy Department and Trinity University Academic Affairs. Proposals are invited for papers on any problem, figure, or issue in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, from the Presocratics to late antiquity. Each paper will be allotted forty-five minutes for oral presentation and will be followed by a response and open discussion.
