The Department of Classical Studies at Boston University seeks applications or nominations for a position in ancient Greek at the rank of assistant professor (tenure track) to begin in July, 2013 (pending final budgetary approval). Specialists in prose, lyric poetry, and Hellenistic literature are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching (two courses per semester) will include classes in ancient Greek from the introductory to graduate level and in classical civilization from introductory to advanced undergraduate. Candidates with the ability to teach undergraduate Latin courses are desirable, as are candidates willing and able to teach in Boston University’s Core Curriculum. Candidates should have Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment and must demonstrate exceptional potential or achievement as scholars and as teachers of undergraduate and graduate students.
