Visiting Instructor / Assistant Professor in Classics – Ancient History

Bowdoin College’s Department of Classics invites applications for a one-year position in ancient history/classics at the Assistant Professor or Instructor level for the 2011-12 academic year. Ph.D. preferred, but A.B.D. considered. A specialization in classical history, evidence of strong teaching experience, and ability and enthusiasm to teach all levels of Greek and/or Latin language are essential. Teaching responsibilities include five courses annually, usually two on historical topics and three Greek and/or Latin language/literature classes.
