The Department of Classics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in the Fall 2013 semester. In addition to research and service expectations, this position comes with the responsibility of directing and teaching in the nationally renowned, uniquely intensive Latin/Greek Institute summer program, as well as teaching departmental courses, including participation in the College’s core curriculum. All appointments are subject to financial availability.

The successful candidate must be an active researcher and a creative and inspiring educator capable of reaching students from a diverse range of backgrounds at a public, urban institution. S/he will be experienced in intensive language teaching in Latin and/or Greek, ideally with substantial experience in team-teaching. S/he will have demonstrated a capacity for academic program administration, mentoring new instructors, and facilitating curricular development. A Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment is required.

This position is open until filled with the review of applications to begin on November 1, 2012.
