Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature. Three-year contract beginning July 2002, tenure track. Applicants must have the Ph.D. (or expect it very soon) and must possess international comparatist qualifications i.e., expertise in cross-cultural analysis as well as professional linguistic competence for advanced scholarship and teaching in several major literatures. Teaching experience, a strong commitment to teaching excellence, and a record or compelling promise of research and publication are required. Preference for, but not limited to, the areas of Classics, modern European, modern Latin American. Teaching load: two courses (totaling 6 hours) per semester. Salary will be competitive.
