The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology seeks a classical archaeologist for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2008. Ph.D. in relevant field is required. Research and teaching should be centered on the material culture of classical antiquity in the Mediterranean and the Near East. Experience in and commitment to fieldwork desirable. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, support interdisciplinary undergraduate programs in the college, and participate in the Graduate Group in Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art.

Located in suburban Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr College is a highly selective liberal arts college for women. Bryn Mawr comprises an undergraduate college with 1,200 students, as well as coeducational graduate schools in some humanities, sciences, and social work. The College supports faculty excellence in both teaching and research and participates in consortial programs with the University of Pennsylvania and with Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges.
