BRYN MAWR COLLEGE – BRYN MAWR, PA (Two Positions)
POSITION 1: The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies invites applications for a tenure track position in Latin at the rank of Assistant Professor, the appointment to be taken up in academic 2007-2008; PhD required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full range of undergraduate courses in Latin and Classical Studies in addition to graduate seminars and to supervise graduate students preparing masters and doctoral theses in Latin poetry of the Roman republic and empire.

The undergraduate program in Classical Studies offers a wide range of courses in Greek and Roman history, literature, material culture, philosophy and religion that complement the offerings of other departments and serve the program of college seminars. At the graduate level the department regularly contributes to the activities of the Graduate Group in Archaeology, Classics and History of Art. We particularly welcome applications from those with special interests in literary theory and the interpretation of Latin poetry, reception and the history of texts.

POSITION 2: Greek, Latin and Classical Studies. The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies seeks to fill a possible one-year visiting position in Greek for the academic year 2007-2008; PhD desired. The successful candidate will be expected to teach six courses, comprising undergraduate courses in Greek and Classical Studies, a graduate seminar of his/her choosing and possibly a freshman seminar.
