The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies announces a one-year visiting position in academic year 2001-2002 with a possibility of renewal for a second year. Ph.D. and teaching experience essential. In addition to a graduate seminar, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Greek and Latin languages and literatures at all levels and to offer courses in Greco-Roman civilization and culture.   1. Post-doctoral Fellowship in the Humanities. One-year fellowship for a specialist in Archaeology, Classics, or History of Art. Appointment as Lecturer at the rank of Assistant Professor; teach one course each semester. Applicants must have received the Ph.D. in 1996 or later; applications are especially encouraged from those who have been teaching three years or more. This fellowship offers the opportunity to complete a major publication using the resources of the Rhys Carpenter Library. Fellows also will be welcome to participate in one or more of Bryn Mawr's four interdisciplinary Centers. The Department of Greek and Latin announces a tenure-track opening at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor for a specialist in Greek prose, the appointment to be taken up in August 2001. The position, which is subject to final administrative approval, will involve the teaching of Greek at all levels, undergraduate and graduate, and the successful candidate will also be responsible for some courses in Latin and some in connection with the departmental program in Classical Studies.   3. The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment, open rank, to begin Semester I, 2001. Desired areas of specialization include regions bordering and/or interacting with Mesopotamia and the Eastern Mediterranean, Anatolia, Syria, and Iran, with a chronological range extending from the late second millennium B.C. through the Roman period. Applications from experienced field archaeologists are especially welcome. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses.
