The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies invites applications for a tenure track position in Latin at the rank of Assistant Professor to be taken up in the fall of 2005-06; PhD required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full range of undergraduate courses in Latin and Classical Studies in addition to graduate seminars and to supervise graduate students preparing masters and doctoral theses in Latin poetry of the Roman republic and empire. We particularly welcome applications from those with special interests in critical theory and the interpretation of Latin poetry, reception, and the history of texts. Complete applications, including a current c.v., three letters of reference and writing samples, should be sent to the department chair, Prof. R.T. Scott, and must be received by November 15, 2004. The department will conduct interviews at the Boston annual meeting of the AIA and APA in January 2005.
