Beginning August 2008, tenure-track, assistant professor in the department of classics; entry level preferred. The department seeks a broadly trained classicist to teach a sequence of language, history, and civilization courses, and courses in the applicant's area of specialization. Candidates with expertise in Latin literature are particularly encouraged to apply. Bucknell requires a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, including interest in contributing to a general liberal arts education, and evidence of scholarly promise. Candidates with an interest in and potential for teaching and interacting effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives are particularly encouraged to apply.
