CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY – CHICO – CHICO, CA
The History Department at California State University, Chico, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Ancient history, beginning in fall 2008. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Introduction to Classical Civilizations (a lower-division General Education course) and courses on Ancient History with specialization in either Greek and/or Roman Civilizations. In addition candidates with experience teaching World History from the origins of man to the fall of the Roman Empire are strongly encouraged to apply. The Ph.D. is required by September 2008. Evidence of excellence in teaching and productivity in research and publication are required, along with a demonstrated commitment to program building and service to the larger campus.
