CARLETON COLLEGE – NORTHFIELD, MN
Carleton College, a highly selective liberal arts college, invites applications for a two-year replacement position in the Department of Classical Languages beginning in the Fall of 2006. We are seeking an entry-level teacher/scholar with broad interests in all aspects of Classical antiquity. Candidates are expected to have completed their Ph.D. by the start of the appointment. Responsibilities include teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in both Greek and Latin to highly talented and motivated undergraduates. Additionally, the successful candidate should be able to teach courses in translation based on genre, especially epic and drama. The teaching load will be six courses a year, two in each of three terms.

Letters of application should address relevant educational and teaching experience, including a statement of teaching philosophy.
