The Classics and History departments at Carthage College, a college of the liberal arts and sciences, are seeking a contract/tenure-track medievalist. The person should be able to teach Latin (classical and medieval at all levels), courses in Late Antiquity, early history of Western Europe and Byzantium. Specialty in field is open. The person is also expected to teach in the College's core Western Heritage program.
Situated on the Lake Michigan shore, midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, Carthage offers quick urban access from a relaxed, small-city environment. More than ten million people live within a two-hour drive. Total college enrollment exceeds 3,000. Founded in 1847, Carthage is the fourth-oldest Lutheran college in the country.
