CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY – CLEVELAND, OH

The Department of Classics at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for a non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of Instructor beginning with the 2013-14 academic year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Classics by the time of appointment. The successful applicant will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching (including student advising) and service. The teaching load is three courses per semester and includes courses in Latin language and literature, classical literature in translation, and etymology, as well as a “First Seminar” in the university-wide undergraduate program of liberal education, SAGES. Applicants will be expected to participate in service within the department, as well as in the college and university, and in outreach.
