The Department of Classics at Colby College invites applications for a one-year replacement position beginning Fall 2008 at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor.

Ph.D. or A.B.D. in Classics required. The candidate should be a Hellenist or Generalist, ideally with a proven excellence in teaching both large and small classes, and the capability to foster a growing interest in Classics at Colby College. The successful candidate should have the ability to teach Greek and Latin at all levels and courses in translation. The teaching load is five courses. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2007 and continue until the position is filled. Applicants may be interviewed at the APA meeting in Chicago. Classics - Ancient Historian Search

The Department of Classics at Colby College invites applications for a one-year replacement position beginning September 1, 2008 at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor. Ph.D. or A.B.D. with specialization in Ancient History required. The candidate should be an ancient historian, ideally with proven excellence in teaching both large and small classes, and the capability to foster a growing interest in Classical Civilization at Colby College. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses in Greek and Roman history and civilization at all levels. The teaching load is five courses.
