The Department of the Classics of Colgate University is authorized to make a one-year appointment at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin July 2013. Completion of the PhD prior to, or shortly after, date of hire expected. The successful candidate will be expected to bring philological expertise to a department that not only places high emphasis upon the teaching of Greek and Latin, but also plays a major role across the curriculum in courses taught in translation. The department seeks candidates with training and experience in the teaching of Latin and Greek at all levels. The teaching load is equivalent to five courses per year.
