The Department of Classics at the College of Charleston is pleased to announce a search to fill a tenure-track line at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a philologist with a focus on Greek history, who is committed to teaching undergraduate Greek language at all levels and to developing cultural courses in translation. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable research agenda, complementing the interests of current faculty, and be willing to contribute courses to the Honors College or the First-Year Experience Program. The tenure-track position will begin August 16, 2012.
Ph.D. in Classics is required. Salary is competitive. The Department of Classics currently consists of eight faculty members with growing enrollments in Latin, Greek, and civilization courses.
