COLLEGE OF WILLIAM AND MARY – WILLIAMSBURG, VA
The Department of Classical Studies at the College of William and Mary in Virginia invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track position in Roman art and archaeology, effective August 2008, at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand, show evidence of excellent teaching and success with large lecture courses (circa 100 students), and demonstrate promise of a distinguished career as a scholar. They must be able to teach courses in Greek and Roman archaeology at all levels, with preference given to candidates who can also teach beginning and intermediate-level Latin and Greek. The Department is especially interested in candidates with fieldwork experience and a developed plan of research in Roman field archaeology.
