College of William and Mary - Williamsburg, VA (Two Positions)

The Department of Classical Studies at the College of William and Mary has been authorized to invite applications for two positions, both to begin in August of 2001:

1) a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of assistant or associate professor and

2) an entry-level tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor.

We seek candidates specializing in Greek literature and culture for one of the two positions and a general classicist for the other. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand and show evidence of excellent teaching, as well as promise of a distinguished career as a scholar. They must be able to teach Greek and Latin at all levels, in addition to a range of general classics courses. All full-time members of the Department regularly teach three courses per semester.
