The Department of Classics invites applications for a full time one year sabbatical replacement to cover the Spring of 2002-2003 and the Fall of 2003-2004 at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Ph.D. in hand or in prospect, teaching experience and undergraduate liberal arts college education welcomed. The Colorado College Classics program is both disciplinary and interdisciplinary, with a number of creatively-conceived courses in translation cross-listed in history, philosophy, religion and women studies. Field of expertise and specialty is open. Teaching responsibilities to include 6 or 7 blocks of courses chosen from the following: beginning and intermediate courses in ancient Greek and Latin languages, archaeology, comparative literature, drama, historiography, mythology, philosophy, and primary source classes in classical civilization. Candidates should consider the excitement of teaching intensive seminar and language classes at a vibrant liberal arts college with inquiring, bright students foremost when they think of applying for this position.
