The Department of Classics at Columbia University invites applications for the position of assistant professor in Latin Literature, to begin as of July 1, 2011. Field of specialization is open, but we particularly welcome applications from candidates with broad interests in Roman cultural and intellectual history. Candidates will be expected to sustain an active research and publication agenda; to teach language and literature courses at all levels, both undergraduate and graduate; to teach literature and culture courses in translation; and to participate in the Columbia College Core Curriculum.
