CONCORDIA COLLEGE – MOORHEAD, MN
The Department of Classical Studies at Concordia College invites applications for a tenure-track position, beginning fall, 2008. We are seeking a broadly trained classicist who is able to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, as well as Classics in Translation, Mythology, Greek History, and participate in the college's liberal arts program. Ability to teach upper level Latin classes is essential. Also essential is a willingness to participate in the annual organization of Concordia's Latin Days, a two day competition in areas of grammar, history, mythology, culture and civilization open to students in K-12 Latin programs throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. Experience in leading students abroad and interest in participating in overseas programs is preferred. Strong record of teaching excellence and Ph.D. in hand also preferred. Applicants should be in sympathy with the aims and objectives of a liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which insists on freedom of inquiry.
