CORNELL COLLEGE – MOUNT VERNON, IA
Temporary teaching position in Classics/Latin.

Cornell College invites applications from candidates to teach any or all sections of the following courses during the 2008-09 academic year: CLA-216 Classical Mythology (Term 2: September 29 - October 22, 2008); LAT-101 Beginning Latin I (Term 3: October 27 - November 19, 2008); LAT-101 Beginning Latin (Term 4: November 24 - December 19, 2008); LAT-102B Beginning Latin II (Term 6: February 2 - 25, 2009)

Cornell College is a private residential liberal arts college of about 1200 students and 80 faculty members. The campus, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, is located in Mount Vernon, approximately 15 miles east of Cedar Rapids and 20 miles north of Iowa City, the site of the University of Iowa. Cornell College has attracted national attention for its distinctive academic calendar under which faculty teach and students enroll in one course at a time in month-long terms.

Master's degree required; ABD and some college teaching experience preferred. A furnished apartment will be provided for the month.
