Postdoctoral Fellowship in Military History at Cornell University (2011-2012)

Funding from the Jack Miller Center-Veritas Fund Higher Education Initiative will provide a one-year postdoctoral fellowship for a candidate with an outstanding record in American or European military history. A Ph.D. in history is required. The fellowship pays a salary of $50,000 and includes standard health insurance and retirement benefits. The fellow is expected to teach one course per semester, according to the needs of the Cornell History department, and to attend lectures and seminars of the Program on Freedom and Free Societies, as well as to give a public lecture. In accordance with Cornell University policy, the appointment will be as a Visiting Assistant Professor.

Applicants must have received the Ph.D. after September 2004. Applicants who will complete their work for the Ph.D. degree by June 30, 2011 are eligible to apply. (Candidates who fail to complete the Ph.D. requirements, including filing the dissertation, by that date will not be considered.)
