CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY – OMAHA, NE

The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies at Creighton University invites applications for a one-year leave replacement position to begin in August 2011. Candidates should be effective, energetic teachers who are committed to undergraduate education and capable of teaching Greek and Latin at all levels, classical civilization courses, and humanities offerings in Creighton’s core curriculum. Ph.D. in hand required at the time of application. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and a brief statement of teaching philosophy on the human resources website of Creighton University (http://www.creighton.edu/hr/careers/index.php). The statement of teaching philosophy should address how the applicant can contribute in the distinctive environment of a Jesuit, Catholic University. Further, applicants should send graduate-school transcripts (photocopies acceptable) and have three current letters of recommendation sent to Professor Christina Clark, Chair, Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies, Creighton University, 2500 California Plaza, Omaha, NE 68178. Review of applications will begin December 15, 2010. We will conduct interviews at the APA/AIA Annual Meeting in San Antonio.
