CYPRUS AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE (CAARI) - NICOSIA, CYPRUS
CAARI is seeking a new director, to assume the position in summer 2003; term, conditions, and compensation negotiable. Must have substantial knowledge of the eastern Mediterranean; administrative experience; conversancy with Academe, US and international; strong people skills. Professional training in archaeology or another field of antiquity preferred. The successful candidate will lead and manage Cyprus's principal foreign research center, including library, hostel, programs of public and scholarly events, fellowship program, sherd and bio-archaeological collections, facilities for visiting scholars, services to excavations in Cyprus. The Director works with Trustees on capital campaign and strategic planning, develops the library and other research and study collections, and is expected to broaden the US and international audience for Cypriot studies and strengthen CAARI's bonds with US and European research institutions abroad.
