The Department of Classics at Dartmouth College invites applications for a tenure-track, three-year appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 1999. Applications are solicited from candidates with a specialty in Greek history who will have a Ph.D. in hand by that date. In addition to courses in Greek history and historiography, candidates should be prepared to teach Greek language and literature at all levels and Latin at the beginning and intermediate levels. The appointment also entails periodic responsibility for directing the department's Foreign Study Program in Greece. All applications should be addressed to Roger B.
