The Department of Classical Studies at Duke University has been authorized to appoint a scholar in the primary field of Latin Literature in Late Antiquity with a broad background in Greek and Latin. The candidate should have training in Latin paleography and research interests in Latin Literature and Late Antiquity, and will be expected to teach courses in medieval literature and Latin palaeography, as well as on Classical authors. The appointment will be tenure-track at the rank of Assistant Professor and is scheduled to begin September 1, 1999. The candidate is expected to have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
