The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for an authorized open-rank, tenured/tenure-track position to begin September 2007. Candidates should be scholar-teacher with a primary specialization in Homer and/or Greek literature of the archaic period. We seek candidates who also possess interests in multiple aspects of classical studies, and particularly welcome applications from persons who work in religion, linguistics, or reception/history of ideas. Prerequisites for consideration include evidence of distinction in scholarship and teaching, commensurate with experience and rank. Junior candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in hand by July 1, 2007. They should submit a letter of application and curriculum vitae, and have three letters sent directly by recommenders. Those above the junior level should submit the letter and curriculum vitae, and supply names and contact information for at least four references.
