DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY – PITTSBURGH, PA

Duquesne University invites applications for a definite, full-time, tenure-track position in Classics as an Assistant Professor, in the fall 2011 semester. Applicants must have completed the Ph.D. by September 1, 2011. Candidates should be able to teach courses in Greek and Latin at all levels, courses in translation, and other courses that contribute to departmental offerings. Desirable areas of expertise include classical archaeology and ancient history, but all qualified candidates are
encouraged to apply.

The department will conduct preliminary interviews at the APA meeting. Review of applications will begin on September 30, 2010 and continue until the position is filled. Candidates should send application (with description of research and teaching interests) and a CV. Letters of recommendation may be requested in subsequent communications.
