Ancient History (Position No. 001153). The history department at East Carolina University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship, to begin on August 15, 2011. Responsibilities include teaching World Civilizations survey courses as well as graduate and undergraduate courses in Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman history. Expertise in an additional field of ancient history will be considered a strength. Scholarly publication and appropriate service to the university, community and profession are expected. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in History, Classics, or other related field at the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates who offer records of scholarly publications and teaching excellence or evidence of promise as scholars and teachers.
