Classical Studies - Full-time Continuing Faculty Position. We seek a broadly trained classicist, specialization open. We invite applications from candidates trained in Classics departments or other fields with primary emphasis on the classical world (History, Philosophy, Comparative Literature). In addition to teaching his or her specialty, the candidate must have a strong interest in teaching classics (in translation) in Evergreen's team-taught curriculum, from the beginning to the advanced level. Candidates should be prepared to teach Greek and Latin and demonstrate strengths in two or more of the following: philosophy, drama and other literature, history of the Greco-Roman world including the Near East, religion, mythology. Background in Greek philosophy is particularly desirable. Ph.D. strongly preferred. Review of complete applications starts November 15, 2002 and will continue until finalists are selected.
