The Department of Classics has been authorized to make a one-year visiting appointment at the assistant professor level, with no possibility of renewal, beginning September 2000. The teaching load is three courses a semester. The area of specialization is open; the candidate will teach undergraduate Greek and/or Latin, undergraduate courses in translation (possibilities are women in antiquity, classical mythology, ancient history, ancient ethics) and possibly a graduate course in Latin poetry or on a topic in cultural studies. Salary competitive.
