1) Curatorial fellowship. Fordham University. The Department of Art History and Music seeks a scholar with expertise in the areas of Etruscan, Southern Italian or Greek art to curate a newly acquired collection. This is a one-year appointment with possibility of a second year, depending upon funding. The Fellow will be responsible for research of the collection and its provenance leading to an exhibition and publication of a documentary catalogue. The Fellow will oversee the conservation of the collection and advise on its display. This curatorial fellowship may be held in a full- or part-time capacity, with the possibility of a full-time fellow also teaching in the department. Ph.D. preferred, but ABD candidates considered; museum or curatorial experience desired. 2) Pending final and formal administrative approval, Fordham University's Classics Department (Bronx Campus) is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor (with Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment) or possibly a junior associate professor to commence duties in the fall semester 2007. Specialization: Roman poetry. Competence in Augustan Age poetry is essential; secondary competence in another poetic area (late Republican, Silver Age) would be a plus. The successful candidate will normally teach one graduate course a year in the CUNY-Fordham-NYU Classics Consortium and will be expected to play a flexible role in the college in the teaching of courses in the original languages as well as in classical civilization in English.
