The Classics program invites applications for a full-time position to begin in fall 2004, rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position requires the teaching of Latin and Greek at all levels. Interest and ability to teach in the University's Great Books of Western Tradition Honors Program is a plus. Optimal qualifications include a Ph.D. in Classics (ABD may be considered), with a broad, philosophic understanding of the relation of classical culture to western civilization. (Applicants with a Ph.D. in a related field may also be considered.) Candidates must demonstrate excellent potential as a teacher and scholar, embrace the principles of liberal education in the Catholic tradition, and be unequivocally committed to Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the University's mission statement (available at www.franciscan.edu).
