Furman University announces a one-year, sabbatical-replacement position to begin August, 2009. We seek a broadly trained classicist who can teach introductory and intermediate Greek, an upper-level Greek course, and a course in the Latin language, Greek or Roman literature in translation, civilization, or archaeology. The teaching load is five courses per year divided over two semesters. With its demonstrated history of outstanding teaching and undergraduate research, a recently renovated and expanded library, a new humanities building, the Classics Department at Furman University provides a supportive environment for a scholar interested in teaching at a liberal arts college where both teaching and scholarship are highly valued.
