Assistant or Associate Professor of Classics. The Department of Classical and Semitic Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in classics at the rank of assistant or associate professor, to begin in AY 2002-3. The candidate is expected to teach three courses per semester. These courses will include classical literature and mythology as well as the art and archeology of Greece, Rome, the Near East and Egypt. Other courses may include lower levels of Latin or Greek. Required: Ph.D. in Classics; mastery of Greek or Latin; experience in teaching classics, art history and archeology (desirable). Salary commensurate with rank and experience.
